Kazakh Short U

Straight U with stroke (Ұ ұ; italics: Ұ ұ), is a letter of the Cyrillic script.[1] In Unicode, this letter is called "Straight U with stroke".[1] Its form is the Cyrillic letter Ue (Ү ү Ү ү) with a horizontal stroke through it.
Usage
Kazakh Short U is used only in the alphabet of the Kazakh language,[1] where it represents the near-close near-back rounded vowel Script error: No such module "IPA"., like the pronunciation of the Template:Angbr in "book".[2] In other circumstances, it is used as a replacement for the former letterScript error: No such module "Unsubst". to represent the close front rounded vowel Script error: No such module "IPA". in situations where it would be easily confused with Cyrillic У у.Script error: No such module "Unsubst". It is romanized as Template:Angle bracket in Kazakh (2021 reform).
