Um... ::shyly waves:: greetings?

I'm Cody, a Ph.D. graduate in computer science from the University of Georgia, and alumnus of Mercer University with a bachelor's degree in the same subject. (Appropriate name for a programmer, I know...) I now work for Cerence, the former mobility division of Nuance Communications, as a research engineer in natural language processing (obligatory legal disclaimer that any edits I make here are entirely my own, and are not made as a representative of the company).

As you might have guessed from the intro to this profile, I'm quite the introvert. I can be social when I want-- just don't expect me to be outgoing for long periods of time. I've also been diagnosed with an autism spectrum condition (the official diagnosis is Asperger's, but that's no longer a thing in the DSM V) and ADD, for whatever that's worth.

Oh, yeah, you might also know me from the National Spelling Bee; I placed fourth back in 1997. The number on my placard was 38, and, well, it just sort of stuck with me as part of my username ever since then.
