MALAYALAM is a language spoken in the state of Kerala, India
MALAYALAM is a language spoken in the state of Kerala, India. It is the only language whhich is a palindrom 99.62.247.136 (talk) 02:49, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- There is an article on Malayalam; you need a reference to say that it is the only language that is a palindrome (which is interesting in itself). thanks. 12:37, 18 June 2024 (UTC) Aszx5000 (talk) 12:37, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- (It certainly isn't, as evidenced by Wikipedia's search box immediately showing results like Aba language, Aja language, Aka language, Ama language, Asa language, Ata language and Awa language. The fact that it is the longest is already stated at Palindrome#Longest palindromes.) 1234qwer1234qwer4 03:22, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

Phonetic palindromes
The list of phonetic palindromes shows "selfless" as one. This is not true, though. Written in the IPA (International Phonetical Alphabet) "selfless" is transcribed as "ˈselfləs". As you can see, the first e is transcribed as an "e", the second one was an "ə", though. (Source: Cambridge Dictionary. IPA transcription for both British and American English.)
I didn't feel like going through all the other claimed phonetic palindromes. Selfless just stood out right away.
In the other hand "tart" is a nice one. It's a phonetic palindrome in British English, but not in American. (tɑːt vs. tɑːrt. The colon is only prolonging the ɑ, it's not a phoneme on its own so for determining a phonetic palindrome, it should be attached to the letter before.) Kennin (talk) 08:40, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
