As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 222 people, 90 households, and 66 families residing in the city. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. There were 90 households, out of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.6% were married couples living together, 15.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families. 23.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.85.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 23.9% under the age of 18, 12.2% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 18.5% who were 65 years of age or older. Education
Public education for elementary and secondary students in Scranton and nearby communities is provided by the Scranton School District,[5] which serves more than 400 students and employs more than 70 educators and staff at its two schools:
