No translation of that word is provided. Apparently the "I am your liegeman" proposal was put forward by Martha Bayless in "Alea, Tæfl, and Related Games: Vocabulary and Context" (2005), but this quote explicitly cites Murray, so Bayless' proposed translation doesn't belong here.
