Many different ethnicities lived. We agree that this name comes from the Romans, so we can say "Ancient Roman City". But to call it an Armenian city, we need to cite a source. If we were to add other civilisations that dominated a city whose name was obviously derived from the Romans, the definition would be "Ancient Hittite Assyrian Persian Roman ... city" and so on.
