In Islam, Muslim most generally refers to any follower of Allah, including people who adhered to correct religion in their own time prior to the coming of Muhammad, not just followers of Muhammad. The claim that various Biblical figures are Muslim is a standard Islamic claim and even in the Quran itself, in this case drawing on the general meaning of Muslim
