  • curprev 21:1121:11, 17 May 2025 imported>Fmartyjr 7,584 bytes +7,584 GDSII was created much earlier. In fact, CALMA as a company was in no shape to do anything by 1989... EDIF was not created in the 1990s. As a physical design (mostly P&R databases) exchange format, it was supplanted by DEF/LEF by then. The original EDIF 2.0 was extremely inefficient particularly as a human-readable format, that created the motivation to create DEF/LEF. (I did that, so I know that for sure...)
