The village is surrounded by hilly terrain with rivers valleys and paddy fields.

It is mainly a rural area inhabited by ethnic groups including the [[Paniya people|Paniyas]] and [[Kuruba|Kuruma]]s. There are age old [[Kurichya]] families here as well.
