This is the User page of '''SmegEd''', a frequent visitor of the Wikipedia database and contributor since the 7th of July, 2005; though his level in editing is basic (yet increasing). He is the very same SmegEd registered on [http://fr.wikipedia.org the French version of Wikipedia] and the semi-frequent visitor to [http://www.albinoblacksheep.com Albinoblacksheep] and it's [[Internet Relay Chat|IRC]], where he is (infrequently) v-op'ed. He has also submitted a certain number of hints and glitches (under his real name) to [http://www.gamewinners.com Gamewinners.com].

His nickname (or at least the longest lasting one) comes from the television show [[Red Dwarf]] where ''"Smeg Head"'' and other ''smeg-'' based insults where used as a form of non-shocking swearing (see [[Red_Dwarf#Invented_words|here]]). Now, the main character (Lister) had a strong [[Liverpool]] accent and pronounced it ''Smeg'Ed''. Since a certain part of this accentuated word resembles his first name, he adopted it as a general nickname for wherever he has to log in.

He is also the founding member of a non-profit organisation based in the Northwest part of the [[Tours]] [[agglomeration]], whose activity is centered upon gathering 4 to all 6 members on afternoons or evenings (for the more special occasions) to play their favourite console, (the [[Nintendo Gamecube]] and more recently the [[Nintendo DS]]), and generally have a good time. Their official website, managed by SmegEd himself, is back online.
His main hobbies, apart from tending to the various activities of his organization (i.e. playing on his Gamecube, alone or in company, and fixing the website) are :

*Computer entertainement and related (image editting, web surfing and IM),
*British comedy (be it Radio or Television), and other comedy in general
*[[Origami]] and other aspects of Japanese culture (mainly manga & video games)
*Fantasy literature (notably the [[Discworld]] series, the [[Lord of the Rings]] and related, [[Harry Potter]])
*[[Steve Jackson Games]] and similar ([[Munchkin]], [[Chez Geek]], Elixir (French game) ...)

Most of his edits will concern one of these focuses.
