I agree, it is more correct to have development as opposed to design which is just one of the stages of the life cycle. The information here should be incorporated into [[System Development Life Cycle]] though as it is all good, i think [[Software Development Life Cycle]] and [[Systems Development Life Cycle]] should also be merged together. --[[User:Ansell|Ansell]] 07:09, 24 July 2005 (UTC)

Absolutely - should be merged. Kathy Schwalbe in her definitive book, Information Technology Project Management: Fourth Edition,(2005. Boston, MA. Thomson Course Technology), calls this System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
