&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Ricky Callan&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; was one of Scotland&amp;#039;s best known character actors, born 28 December 1961. A familiar face on television, he had a long list of credits to his name, including &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[The Young Person&amp;#039;s Guide to Becoming a Rock Star]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Taggart]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Monarch of the Glen (TV series)|Monarch of the Glen]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Rebus (2000 TV series)|Rebus]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Velvet Soup]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. In 2001 he wrote the screenplay for the short film &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pork Chop&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. He starred in the film &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Joe Smeal&amp;#039;s Wheels]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; directed by &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Leon the Pig Farmer]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; screenwriter Michael Normand.&lt;br /&gt;
