'''Paddiruppu electoral district''' was an [[electoral district]] of [[Sri Lanka]] between [[1947 Ceylonese parliamentary election|August 1947]] and [[1989 Sri Lankan parliamentary election|February 1989]]. The district was named after the town of [[Paddiruppu]] in [[Batticaloa District]], [[Eastern Province, Sri Lanka|Eastern Province]]. The [[Constitution of Sri Lanka|1978 Constitution]] of Sri Lanka introduced the [[proportional representation]] electoral system for [[Elections in Sri Lanka|electing]] [[Member of Parliament|members]] of [[Parliament of Sri Lanka|Parliament]].
