'''Nowoszów''' {{IPAc-pl|n|o|'|w|o|sz|u|f}} is an abandoned [[Market town]] in the administrative district of [[Gmina Iłowa]], within [[Żagań County]], [[Lubusz Voivodeship]], in western Poland.{{TERYT}} It lies approximately {{convert|9|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of [[Iłowa]], {{convert|20|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south of [[Żagań]], and {{convert|58|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south of [[Zielona Góra]].

Founded in the 13th century, the small Town was destroyed in 1366 by the [[Lusatian League]] when the [[Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Wrocław|Archbishop of Breslau]] decided to establish a [[Staple right|Staple]] for [[Isatis tinctoria|Woad]]. The League was fined a high repentance, but the City of [[Görlitz]] was able to maintain its monopoly on Woadtrade.
