&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Myrtle Alice Cook&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (also competed as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Myrtle McGowan&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;) (January 5, 1902{{spnd}}March 18, 1985) was a Canadian [[Athletics (sport)|athlete]] who won the gold medal in the women&amp;#039;s 4 × 100 metres at the [[1928 Summer Olympics]].&lt;br /&gt;

In 1929, Cook began a career writing for the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Montreal Star]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, where she contributed the column &amp;quot;In the Women&amp;#039;s Spotlight&amp;quot; for the next 40 years.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;:0&amp;quot; /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
