Mayyanad is located in the south western suburbs of Kollam district, [[Kollam|Kollam city]] about {{convert|10|km}} south of the city centre and {{convert|6|km}} north of [[Paravur, Kollam|Paravur Town]]. Mayyanad is also situated on the banks of the [[Paravur Kayal|Paravur Lake]] and has an [[Arabian Sea]] coastline noted for its fishing.<br />
