The airline was established in 1970, although it did not start operations until 1990 due to the many problems it faced. It ceased operations on 1 November 2004.<ref name="FI"/> It had operated helicopter services linking the islands of Malta and [[Gozo]] since 1990. Carrying 30,000 - 40,000 passengers per year, the service reached a peak of 64,000 passengers in 1994.
