==Early years==&lt;br /&gt;
O&amp;#039;Morrison began working when he was 14 years old. Beginning in 1937, O&amp;#039;Morrison performed with the [[Mercury Theatre]] in New York. Plays in which he appeared included &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Danton&amp;#039;s Death]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Julius Caesar (play)|Julius Caesar]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[The Shoemaker&amp;#039;s Holiday|Shoemaker&amp;#039;s Holiday]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. During three years&amp;#039; military service in World War II, O&amp;#039;Morrison had a lead role in the play &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Winged Victory (play)|Winged Victory]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. In addition to touring with that production he performed in the [[Winged Victory (film)|film adaptation]].&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;t&amp;quot; /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

O&amp;#039;Morrison played the lead actor in the TV series &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Charlie Wild, Private Detective]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1950–51) for the first seven episodes. The series began on [[CBS Television]], and then moved to [[American Broadcasting System|ABC]], and finally [[DuMont Television Network|DuMont]].&lt;br /&gt;

He started his career working as a stage, radio, television, and film actor in the 1940s.
