The district includes all or part of [[Vernon Hills, Illinois|Vernon Hills]], [[Prairie View, Illinois|Prairie View]], [[Long Grove, Illinois|Long Grove]], [[Buffalo Grove, Illinois|Buffalo Grove]], [[Mettawa, Illinois|Mettawa]], [[Lake Forest, Illinois|Lake Forest]], [[Lake Bluff, Illinois|Lake Bluff]], [[Green Oaks, Illinois|Green Oaks]], [[Gurnee, Illinois|Gurnee]], [[Waukegan, Illinois|Waukegan]], [[Indian Creek, Illinois|Indian Creek]], [[Lincolnshire, Illinois|Lincolnshire]], [[Mundelein, Illinois|Mundelein]], [[North Chicago, Illinois|North Chicago]], [[Park City, Illinois|Park City]], [[Riverwoods, Illinois|Riverwoods]], [[Wheeling, Illinois|Wheeling]], and [[Northbrook, Illinois|Northbrook]].&lt;br /&gt;

Her legislative priorities included education, healthcare, and transportation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ryg has a Masters in Public Administration and a Masters of Arts in Education from [[Roosevelt University]] and a Bachelor of Science in Family Services from [[Northern Illinois University]]. She is also a graduate of the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development program.&lt;br /&gt;

Ryg resigned to rejoin the private sector on August 31, 2009.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;{{cite news|title=State Rep.
