Neeld became a major landowner in Wiltshire, having inherited from his brother [[Joseph Neeld|Joseph]] in 1856; in 1872 he was [[High Sheriff of Wiltshire|High Sheriff]] of the county.&amp;lt;ref name = Alderton/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
