Essertines-sur-Rolle has an area, {{as of|2009|lc=on}}, of {{convert|7|km2|mi2|sp=us}}.  Of this area, {{convert|4.88|km2|mi2|abbr=on}} or 70.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while {{convert|1.59|km2|mi2|abbr=on}} or 22.9% is forested. Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 3.9% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.2%.  Out of the forested land, 20.0% of the total land area is heavily forested and 2.9% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees.
