At the entrance to Chedabucto Bay is the community of [[Canso, Nova Scotia|Canso]] at the head is the community of [[Guysborough, Nova Scotia (community)|Guysborough]] and on the other end is the town of [[Mulgrave, Nova Scotia|Mulgrave]].

==Geography==

Merchants in [[La Rochelle|La Rochelle, France]] enjoyed a fishing monopoly in [[Acadia]] and formed the Company of Acadia which established a small fortification on Chedabucto Bay named [[Fort St. Louis (Guysborough County, Nova Scotia)|Fort St. Louis]].<ref>{{cite book|last=Dunn|first=Brenda|title=A History of Port-Royal-Annapolis Royal, 1605-1800|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=9c4hPwAACAAJ&pg=PA1|year=2004|publisher=Nimbus|isbn=978-1-55109-740-4|page=29}}</ref> The principal ports were at Chedabucto, which accounted for fifty fishers in 1686. On Wednesday, February 4, 1970 the [[Liberia]]n-registered [[Tanker (ship)|tanker]] ''Arrow'' ran aground on Cerberus Rock with a cargo of {{convert|108,000|oilbbl}} barrels of [[Bunker C]] fuel and split in two.
