Cape Chaplino was the site of the [[Siberian Yupik|Yupik]] village named [[Ungazik]] (Chaplino; Unisak on [[United States Coast and Geodetic Survey]] charts) which gave its name to the Chaplinski dialect of the [[Siberian Yupik language]].
