== Geography ==
Canet-en-Roussillon is located in the [[canton of La Côte Sableuse]] and in the [[arrondissement of Perpignan]], {{convert|9.4|km|1|abbr=on}} to the east of [[Perpignan]].

It is part of the [[Comarques of Northern Catalonia|Northern Catalan comarca]] of [[Rosselló (comarca)|Rosselló]].

== History ==

The [[city wall]]s were destroyed in the 19th century.
