On 1 January 2011 it was merged with the municipality of [[Bettenhausen, Switzerland|Bettenhausen]].

Bollodingen has an area, {{as of|2009|lc=on}}, of {{convert|1.96|km2|sqmi|abbr=on}}. Of this area, {{convert|1.18|km2|sqmi|abbr=on}} or 60.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while {{convert|0.59|km2|sqmi|abbr=on}} or 30.1% is forested. Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 5.1% and transportation infrastructure made up 4.1%. 30.1% of the total land area is heavily forested.
