He was elected to the [[House of Commons of Canada]] as a member of the [[Progressive Conservative Party of Canada|Progressive Conservatives]] for the [[Electoral district (Canada)|riding]] of [[Kingston (federal electoral district)|Kingston]] in the [[1958 Canadian federal election|1958]] election and defeated in the [[1962 Canadian federal election|1962]] election. He had a seat in the house of commons for the 24th Canadian Parliament, when [[John Diefenbaker]] was prime minister.<br />
