&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Allen McIntyre Stack&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (January 23, 1928  – September 12, 1999) was an American [[swimming (sport)|competition swimmer]], [[Olympic Games|Olympic]] champion, and former [[world record]]-holder.&lt;br /&gt;

Stack won the gold medal in the [[Swimming at the 1948 Summer Olympics - Men&amp;#039;s 100 metre backstroke|men&amp;#039;s 100-meter backstroke]] at the [[1948 Summer Olympics]] in London.&amp;lt;ref name=sroprofile&amp;gt;Sports-Reference.com, Olympic Sports, Athletes, [https://web.archive.org/web/20200417170123/https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/st/allen-stack-1.html  Allen Stack]. &lt;br /&gt;
Stack attended [[Yale University]], where he swam for the [[Yale Bulldogs swimming and diving]] team in [[National Collegiate Athletic Association]] (NCAA) competition from 1947 to 1949.  He graduated from Yale with a bachelor&amp;#039;s degree in 1949.  He served in the [[United States Navy|U.S. Navy]] from 1951 to 1954, and graduated from [[Columbia University Law School]] in 1956.
