He competed in the [[Motocross World Championship]]s from 1993 to 2009. The following year he switched to the [[Husqvarna Motorcycles|Husqvarna]] factory racing team and repeated as 125cc world champion. Chiodi moved to the United States in 2000 to compete in the [[American Motorcyclist Association|AMA]] national championships without success due to an injury plagued season. Afterwards, he returned to Europe to compete in the world championships before switching to the [[four-stroke]] world championships.
