A month after the vote, 2000 supporters of [[Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq|ISCI]] protested at the results, saying internally displaced refugee supporters had been unable to vote, and a large number of their supporters had turned up to vote to find their names were not on the electoral roll.<ref name="aljaz2">{{cite web | url=http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2009/03/2009311851173572.html | title=Iraqi Shia protest at Diyala vote | publisher=Al Jazeera | accessdate=14 February 2015}}</ref>
