*Picture this: a barnstar made of wires and steel plating. Need I say more?
**That idea sounds good (I was initially thinking of something similar), but it seems like it might go against the tradition of barnstars being very simple.  Also, it might look weird to be awarded to someone who contributed a vast number of articles on the industrial revolution, for example.  If someone made a high-tech barnstar that people liked, I'd probably vote for it, but for now, here's a rough draft of my attempt.
