==Academy of Learning==
The article that you made regarding the Academy of Learning is really confusing. I have a feeling that it has some meaning that should be in Wikipedia, but it should be expanded and clarified and have some notations/citations. --[[User:Pmedema|Pmedema]] ([[User talk:Pmedema|talk]]) 22:06, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
:Clean-up conducted - removed clarification tag.  Thanks --[[User:Pmedema|Pmedema]] ([[User talk:Pmedema|talk]]) 22:23, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

== Image sizes ==

Hi, Visor! Specifying thumb sizes is discouraged. Take a look at: [[Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Images]]. The good news is that you can set your preferences to make them smaller :) -- <span style="background: #EECCFF;">[[User:SatyrTN|SatyrTN]] <small>([[User talk:SatyrTN|talk]] | [[Special:Contributions/SatyrTN|contribs]])</small></span> 21:54, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
:Yes, I've heard that a few people have the images over the Notes column. But a majority of people don't seem to have a problem, and the MOS guideline says if you *do* have a problem you can set your preferences. I know W-Z had the sizes when it got FL, but [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_gay%2C_lesbian_or_bisexual_people:_Sa-Sc&oldid=174437877] and [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_gay%2C_lesbian_or_bisexual_people:_Sd-Si&oldid=169402056], FL'd *without* sizes. [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_gay%2C_lesbian_or_bisexual_people:_T-V&oldid=160247182 T-V] FL'd *with* sizes, though those were set at 200px.

:As a compromise, what if we switched the References and the Notes columns? That way if a column gets hidden, it's the mostly empty Notes column rather than the much more important Ref. column? -- <span style="background: #EECCFF;">[[User:SatyrTN|SatyrTN]] <small>([[User talk:SatyrTN|talk]] | [[Special:Contributions/SatyrTN|contribs]])</small></span> 22:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
::We *could* leave it alone, but at the moment it's the only one of the lists that has the images with set sizes. And I've been spending a *lot* of time on these lists trying to a) expand them and b) standardize them. -- <span style="background: #EECCFF;">[[User:SatyrTN|SatyrTN]] <small>([[User talk:SatyrTN|talk]] | [[Special:Contributions/SatyrTN|contribs]])</small></span> 23:11, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

== Quake 3 Links ==

Hi

I noticed you've removed the links that I added to the Quake 3 page. Do you mind explaining why? As I noted in the comments, the way I added the links was to make them the same as the ones on the Doom page. So how can it be ok to have them that way on the Doom page but not on the Quake 3 page? Thanks.[[User:Ben 2082|Ben 2082]] ([[User talk:Ben 2082|talk]]) 21:03, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

== Quake 3 Links ==

I didn't say that Doom IS a featured article, I said it has been a featured article. Also about the headings- the Doom article has them and no-one has a problem with it. Also the links I want to add to the Quake 3 article are identical in nature to those in the Doom article- again, no-one has a problem with those being there, and they've been there for months if not years. That link about wikipedia links you gave me says that wikipedia shouldn't include links that aren't relevant- but these are. If you look in [[Wikipedia:External links]] it gives the following information about what to use as a link:

"3. Sites that contain neutral and accurate material that cannot be integrated into the Wikipedia article due to copyright issues, amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks) or other reasons."

The sites that I linked to fall into this category because they provid comprehensive information about fan-created content for Quake 3 that obviously you couldn't fit in the article, but it's still neutral and accurate material. Thanks for your time. [[User:Ben 2082|Ben 2082]] ([[User talk:Ben 2082|talk]]) 22:12, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

== Re: Quake 3 Links ==

So do you think many of the links in the Doom page should be removed? Also when you say "Links given by you provides information about fan-created content for game, but has no encyclopedic value, in opposite to "professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks" "- why are those things encyclopedic whereas information about fan-created content isn't? == Re: Quake 3 Links ==

Okay, I see you've removed the Planetquake page, as suggested in that article you mentioned. But why havn't you removed the Mobygames page, too? That falls under the following category:

"The video game's page at 1up, GameSpot, IGN, GameSpy and other commercial video game news and reviews sites - Such links can be seen as promotion of the associated commercial sites."

Quake3world probably should go, too because it falls under the following:

"Forums, even if official forums provided by the developer/publisher of the game - Again, these are self-published forums and are not appropriate"

I'm guessing that Open Directory project thing is supposed to be an extensive list of links but it's missing a lot. It's a pity there isn't some kind of "wiki-link" or something, where people can put in useful links for stuff, then you could just have a link to that from the main wikipedia page for something. I just mean so that people can find good websites easily. [[User:Ben 2082|Ben 2082]] ([[User talk:Ben 2082|talk]]) 12:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

I have not written there were albums released to public, I have even mentioned there are not public. As this is my first article (and beginning at wikipedia) I'd like also to ask how can I improve my articles' credibity? There's lot of knowledge where just can't type something in Google, but have to know of specific lives of people involved in many no specially loud-medial ventures. Hi,

We conversed a while ago about the Quake 3 article, and you seem like a pretty fair editor when it comes to wikipedia. I'm trying to edit the Final Doom article, but this guy keeps coming along and screwing around with it, deleting stuff that shouldn't be deleted- basically some stuff in the Trivia sections that is noteable, and should clearly be in there. == [[Pawel Szajda]] article ==

Hello. Since you spearheaded the attempted removal of the [[Pawel Szajda]] article in 2008, I thought you might like to review the complete rewrite of the article I just completed. I know it's still not up to ideal standards, but it's a work in progress. For example, there's another [http://broadwayworld.com/article/A_Chat_with_Tuscan_Suns_Szajda_Appearing_at_the_Fringe_20060810 article] with several bits of information and quotes I plan to selectively include. There are more lurking out there, too. The main reason I am writing is to make sure that you agree that the actor is notable enough not to warrant any more deletion nominations, or if you still don't believe he is notable. I would have to say that as it stands now, this article is considerably better than many actor-related AFDs that result in Keep. I hope you agree. If not, please don't prod it. Discuss the matter with me, and I will try to address the issues. I probably will be away from en.Wiki for about a week, but looking at my edit history, you know I am legitimate and will return to do as I say. :-) Have a great day! --[[User:Willscrlt|<span style="color:#46E;font:100% Tahoma">'''Will'''<span style="color:#D13">scrlt</span></span>]]&nbsp;<span style="font:90% Calibri,Tahoma">([[User talk:Willscrlt|<span style="color:#46E">Talk</span>]])</span> 15:21, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

== Maria Kaczynska DoB ==

Hello,

The reference I placed for Maria Kaczynska's DoB is an outside source. What information do you have - besides another Wikipedia project - that confirms that my reference is unreliable? -- [[User:Michael David|Michael David]] ([[User talk:Michael David|talk]]) 15:18, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
: I can't find evidence which would confirm that znanipolacy.pl is a reliable website. It is just who-is-who database with paid ranks and spam-links ([[SEO]] purpopses) at footer. No references, unknown authors and publisher. I've added a more reliable reference. Would you agree with this source? [[User:Visor|Visor]] ([[User talk:Visor#top|talk]]) 16:05, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
::I don't know how one determines that a particular website is completely reliable - including Wikipedia. Since I don't read Russian, I couldn't tell what the reference you placed said. But, since the DoB you inserted in the Article differs by only one year, I will take it on faith and be satisfied with that. --- [[User:Michael David|Michael David]] ([[User talk:Michael David|talk]]) 16:23, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
::: I haven't said Wikipedia is a reliable reference. For this moment other Wikipedias, including Polish, has different DOBs for Maria. I can only tell that znanipolacy.pl isn't reliable by arguments I've mentioned above. The reference I've placed includes scanned list of passports of the [[2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash|Tu-154 flight]]. If you don't read Russian, I can suggest you [[Google Translate]] tool. Date of birth of Maria was under dispute since ca. 2006 (there is a discussion [[pl:Dyskusja:Maria_Kaczyńska#Data_Urodzenia|here]]). There is also a little chaos around that, you can see that one source—[http://wyborcza.pl/1,75402,7754440,Maria_Kaczynska__ur__1950_.html Gazeta.pl]—gives two dates in one article: 1950 (''ur. 1950'' means ''born in 1950'') and 1943 (image description says "1943 - 2010"). [[User:Visor|Visor]] ([[User talk:Visor#top|talk]]) 16:44, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
::::Thank you, Visor. One of the things that does make Wikipedia a much more reliable source than most others is the amount of research and discussion that goes on behind the scenes - like ours. And, I have found that with birth dates, sometimes the subject themselves (when it comes to publicity) can be the least relaible :-). Also, the notes you added to the Article help a lot. Thanks, and be healthy. -- [[User:Michael David|Michael David]] ([[User talk:Michael David|talk]]) 17:21, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
::::: This debate is still open of course, the more reliable reference is needed for that point. Thanks for the discussion. [[User:Visor|Visor]] ([[User talk:Visor#top|talk]]) 17:42, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

This message is being sent to you because you have previously edited the [[Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English)]] page. There is currently a discussion that may result in a significant change to Wikipedia policy. Specifically, a consensus is being sought on if the policies of [[WP:UCN]] and [[WP:EN]] continues to be working policies for naming biographical articles, or if such policies have been replaced by a new status quo. This discussion is on-going at [[Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (use English)#Use of diacritics in biographical article titles|Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (use English)]], and your comments would be appreciated. Thanks for uploading or contributing to '''[[:File:Malgorzata Braunek.jpg]]'''. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under [[WP:NFCC|non-free content criteria]], but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. == [[:File:Mariusz Zaruski.JPG]] needs authorship information. ==

The media file you uploaded as [[:File:Mariusz Zaruski.JPG]] appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source),

Welcome to the second issue of [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland|WikiProject Poland]] newsletter, the Monitor (named after [[Monitor_(Polish_newspaper)|the first Polish newspaper]]).

Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the [[WT:POLAND|Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page]], so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. Last year we were [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2012-02-20/WikiProject report|featured in the Signpost]], and our interviewer was amazed at our activity. In the end, however, even as active as we are, we are just a tiny group - you can easily become one of our core members!

In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
* we have an active [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland/Assessment|assessment department]]. As of now, our project has tagged almost 83,000 pages as Poland-related - that's an improvement of over 3,000 new pages since the last newsletter. Out of which 30 still need a [http://toolserver.org/~enwp10/bin/list2.fcgi?run=yes&projecta=Poland-related&quality=Unassessed-Class quality assessment], and 2,000, [http://toolserver.org/~enwp10/bin/list2.fcgi?run=yes&projecta=Poland-related&importance=Unknown-Class importance assessment]. We have done a lot to clear the backlog here (3 years ago those numbers were 1,500 and 20,000, respectively). Can you help assess a few pages?
**assessing articles is as easy as filling in the class= and importance= parameters on the talk page in the <nowiki>{{WPPOLAND|class=|importance=}}</nowiki> template. See [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Poland/Assessment#FAQ|here]] for a how-to guide.
* once an article has an assessment template, it will appear in [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Poland#Article_news|our article alerts and news feed]], which provides information on which Poland-related articles are considered for deletion, move, or are undergoing a Good or Featured review. Watchlisting [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland/Article alerts|that feed]], in addition to watchlisting our project's main page, is a good way to make sure you stay up to date on most Poland-related discussions.
* you can also see detailed deletion discussions at [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Poland]] (which is a good place to watchlist if you just want to stay up to date on possible deletions of Poland-related content)
* we have also begun [[Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria|B-class]] quality reviews on our talk page, and if our activity increases, hopefully we will be able to institute our own [[Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/A-Class criteria|A-class]] quality reviews. As of now, we have about [[:Category:Poland articles with an incomplete B-Class checklist|500 C-class articles in need of a B-class review]]. If you'd like to help with them, instructions for doing B-class reviews are to be found in [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Poland/Assessment#FAQ|point 10 of our assessment FAQ]]. In addition to this automated list, you are also encouraged to help review articles from our B-class reviews requested list found [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland/Reviews|here]].
* also, those articles will be included in our [http://toolserver.org/~svick/CleanupListing/CleanupListing.php?project=Poland cleanup listing], which allows us to see which top-importance articles are in need for attention, and so on. We have tens of thousands articles in need of cleanup there, so if you ever need something to do, just look at this gigantic list. (I am currently reviewing the articles tagged with notability, either proving them notable or nominating for deletion; there are still several dozens left if you want to help!).
* did you know that newly created Poland-related articles are listed [[Portal:Poland/New article announcements|here]]. They need to be reviewed, often cleaned-up, occasionally nominated for deletion, and their creators may need to be [[Template:WikiProject Poland welcome|welcomed and invited to our project]] if they show promise as new authors of Poland-related content.
* we are maintaining a [[Portal:Poland]]
* automated [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland/Popular pages]] lists the most popular Poland-related pages from the previous month(s)
* Breaking news: we are looking for a [[Wikipedia:Wikipedian in Residence|Wikipedian in Residence]] for the New York City area. See [[Wikipedia:GLAM/Józef Piłsudski Institute of America]] for details.
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!

With all that said, how about you join our discussions at [[WT:POLAND]]? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself?

It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :)

== Europe 10,000 Challenge invite ==

Hi. The [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge]] has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland [[Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge]]. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like [[Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic)]]. For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon]], sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --[[User:MediaWiki message delivery|MediaWiki message delivery]] ([[User talk:MediaWiki message delivery|talk]]) 21:10, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

==File copyright problem with File:E.Zawadzka Zo 1943.png==
[[File:Copyright-problem.svg|64px|left|alt=|link=]]
Thank you for uploading [[:File:E.Zawadzka Zo 1943.png]]. However, it is currently missing information on its '''copyright''' and '''licensing''' status. Wikipedia takes [[Wikipedia:Copyrights|copyright]] very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the [[:File:E.Zawadzka Zo 1943.png|image description page]]. You may refer to the '''[[WP:IUP#Adding images|image use policy]]''' to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on '''[[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags|copyright tags]]''' may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a [[Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion|request for undeletion]] and ask for a chance to fix the problem.<!-- Template:You can request undeletion -->

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is [{{fullurl:Special:Log|type=upload&user=Visor}} a list of your uploads].

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the [[Wikipedia:Media copyright questions|media copyright questions page]]. Thanks again for your cooperation.<!-- Template:Di-no license-notice -->

==Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Sitraahra.png==
[[File:Copyright-problem.svg|64px|left|alt=|link=]]
Thank you for uploading '''[[:File:Sitraahra.png]]'''. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by [[Wikipedia:Non-free content]]. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from [[Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline]] is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an [[Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free|image copyright tag]]; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#F7|section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion]]. If you have any questions, please ask them at the [[Wikipedia:Media copyright questions|media copyright questions page]]. Thank you.<!-- Template:Di-disputed fair use rationale-notice -->

The article [[:2007 Polish Film Awards]] has been [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed for deletion]]&#32;because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''unsourced since 2007'''</blockquote>

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be [[WP:DEL#REASON|deleted for any of several reasons]].

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your [[Help:edit summary|edit summary]] or on [[Talk:2007 Polish Film Awards|the article's talk page]].

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed deletion process]], but other [[Wikipedia:deletion process|deletion process]]es exist. In particular, the [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion]] process can result in deletion without discussion, and [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion|articles for deletion]] allows discussion to reach [[Wikipedia:Consensus|consensus]] for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> [[User:Chidgk1|Chidgk1]] ([[User talk:Chidgk1|talk]]) 18:11, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
