Hi. I'm working on [[KLF discography]]. To aid with formatting, I created two templates. The image thumbnails I am using get passed as arguments to the templates. I've noticed that, presumably as a result of the use of a template, the Image page doesn't know that the image is being used in an article (see e.g. [[:Image:The KLF- Burn The Bastards.jpg]]). I'm worried that some bot will come along and say "right, they're not being used", and list them for deletion.

Hi Vanky. I had another rummage through the [[:Category:Gloucestershire|Gloucestershire category tree]] yesterday and created a category for Tewksbury as I'd already done for Cheltenham. I also found quite a few Bristol suburbs in the Glos. towns/villages categories.  I removed them as an exercise in [[WP:BOLD|being bold]] but, as I pretty much expected, I've had an objection. So, I just wondered what you think? Should South Glos be in it's own category (which can be a subcat of Glos) or is it the same place? Do you think of Bristol as being in the same county as Cheltenham, or a big city an hour away down the motorway as I do? Taken to [[Category talk:South Gloucestershire]] if you'd like to chip in, and by the way I'm not expecting you to agree with me! == A short Esperanzial update ==

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on [[WT:ESP|the ''Esperanza'' talk page]] as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace [[User:JoanneB|JoanneB]] and [[User:Pschemp|Pschemp]] and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on [[2006-07-02]] and last until [[2006-07-09]]. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before [[2006-07-02]]. * [[The Beatles]] article, the "[[Flagship]]" of the Project, is currently under review with regard to its [[Wikipedia:Featured Article|Featured Article]] status. It is hoped that the review will identify those areas that need some(/lots of) remedial work, and that the Project participants and those editors who are involved in the the FA admin pages to can work together to "save" the status of the article.
** At the moment there is some discussion as to why it has been listed, and what may be needed to help it retain its FA status. It may well be that some work is going to be required in formulating a plan of action, and then some more in achieving those aims.
**The FA status is obviously quite important to the Project, and it would be appreciated if participants are able to provide assistance in keeping the article up to standard. Inline citations are an important aspect of articles—they ensure verifiability and reliability, and they remove original research. The nominations are [[George Harrison]], [[Apple Corp]], [[The Beatles]](!!), all proposed by [[User:Kingboyk|Kingboyk]] and [[John Lennon]], proposed by [[User:LuciferMorgan|LuciferMorgan]]. Interested editors should make themselves known on the various article talk pages.

If one is to be mercenary about the subject, it should be noted that Paul McCartney is going to be more noteworthy than usual in the near future as his divorce case comes to court. In that case it is great to note that a small group of Project Members (plus another individual who does not feel compelled to register himself despite important contributions) have worked very hard, and in an atmosphere of good humour, to take the McCartney piece to a succesful Good Article nomination. Perhaps this is the method to use for future articles, a small dedicated team concentrating on one subject at a time. Of course, all members are invited to join any existing group or even go about forming their own. Please note any such action in the [[WP:TBL|Project Log]].

In May of 2006, the [[High Court of Justice|High Court]] ruled in favor of Apple, but [[Neil Aspinall]], manager of Apple Corps, vowed to appeal. == Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference ==

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse ([[Help_talk:Minor_edit#Should_we_remove_the_Preference_setting_to_.22Mark_all_edits_minor_by_default.22_.3F|consensus discussion]]). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was <code>true</code>. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to <code>false</code> in the next few days. This does ''not'' require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of [[WP:MINOR]], and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then [[Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)/Archive_78#Preference_to_mark_all_edits_minor_by_default_asked_to_be_removed_in_bugzilla:24313|this discussion]] will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely.
