My name is Lisa Seelye and I'm fairly new to this aspect of Wikipedia -- being a user, I mean.  Wikipedia seems to be a fairly large place and for the new user it comes across as intimidating. (I can now see why there is a welcoming comittee!)

== A little about me ==

My political leanings are towards the socialist end of the spectrum.

I am a former developer on the [[Gentoo Linux]] project and have contributed to the [[Memcached]] (which is apparently [[Meta:Memcached|being used]] here), and [[Distcc]] projects.

I currently reside in [[Leeds]], [[England]], [[United Kingdom]] although I am originally from [[Rochester, New York]].

I do well enough with Norwegian, but reading the [[:no:Hovedside|Norwegian Wiki]] is a chore because I have to look up a lot of the vocabulary.
