== What is Eid al- fitr ==

Eid literally means a “festival” or “feast” in Arabic. There are two major eids in the Islamic calendar per year – Eid al-Fitr earlier in the year and Eid al-Adha later.
Why is Eid celebrated?
Eid al-Fitr is one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslims and commemorates the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast daily from before dawn until sunset. The page has an incorrect image that does not show India includes in the countries where Eid is a public holiday. Even the page says that Eid is a public holiday in India but the image "Countries where Eid al-Fitr is an Official Public Holiday.jpeg" is cinrrectly depcited.

Is there a particular reason why the entries in that [[Eid_al-Fitr#In the_Gregorian_calendar|table]] are not uniform? Some have a space at the beginning and some are in italics. ::Nevermind, the first reference is already covering the period from 2001 to 2025. But it is not so clear, so I guess that is why the extra references were added. Since they are redundant, they should be removed. Maybe a new column for references should be added? The only one missing is from the year 2000. I also have found [https://www.qppstudio.net/global-holidays-observances/eid-al-fitr-end-of-ramadan.htm this link], which shows the predicted dates according to the Umm al-Qura calendar up to 2035, but it might be a bit too much to include.
