Born in [[Istiaia]], [[Euboea (regional unit)|Euboea]], Chaitas played football for [[Panionios F.C.|Panionios]] from 1958 until 1977 with a brief interlude in 1974–1975 season when he played for [[Larissa FC|AEL]].
