Ianni played [[College soccer in the United States|college soccer]] at [[University of California, Los Angeles|UCLA]] for three seasons.  Following his sophomore season, he was named [[Pac-12 Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Year|2004 Pac-10 Co-Player of the Year]] along with [[C. J. Klaas]].  He was a semifinalist for the [[Hermann Trophy]] Award after his junior season.
