Handen is where the municipality seat of [[Haninge Municipality|Haninge]] is located. [[Haninge Municipality|Haninge]]'s major shopping center, Haninge Centrum, and the joint campus of [[KTH Royal Institute of Technology|KTH]] and [[Södertörn University|Södertörns Högskola]] are also located here.
