'''Gilbert William Barker''' (30 July 1882 – 6 September 1952) was an [[Australian rules football]]er who played for the [[Fitzroy Football Club]] and [[Melbourne University Football Club|University Football Club]] in the [[Victorian Football League (1897–1989)|Victorian Football League]] (VFL).<ref>{{AFL Tables | G/Gilbert_Barker }}</ref>

An ex-Wesley College player, In his debut season Gilbert was part of the 1904 [[Fitzroy Football Club|Fitzroy]] [[AFL Premiership|Premiership]] side on the half-forward flank. He then moved into the midfield for the rest of his career with [[Fitzroy Football Club|Fitzroy]], before playing back at half-forward in [[University Football Club|University]]'s first year operating in the league.

Barker graduated as a doctor in mid 1908<ref>{{cite news |url=http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article10665982 |title=UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE. |newspaper=[[The Argus (Melbourne)|The Argus]] |location=Melbourne |date=6 June 1908 |page=16 |via=National Library of Australia}}</ref> and returned to Perth where he had spent 1907 as a trainee doctor.

He married Emma Lilly Keune in 1911 and they had three children.
