'''Castell-Rüdenhausen''' was a County in the region of [[Franconia]] in northern [[Bavaria]] of the [[Holy Roman Empire]], ruled by a branch of the [[Counts of Castell]]. It was created as a partition of [[Castell (Germany)|Castell]] and in 1806, it was [[German Mediatisation|mediatised]] to Bavaria. 

On 7 March 1901 both branches of the family were raised to the hereditary rank of [[Fürst|Prince]] in primogeniture with the style of [[Serene Highness]] by [[Luitpold, Prince Regent of Bavaria]].<ref>{{cite web | url=http://w.genealogy.euweb.cz/castell/castell4.html | title=Castell 4 }}</ref> A [[morganatic marriage|morganatic branch]] of this Princely House is the famous noble [[Faber-Castell family]].
