It is [[endemic]] to the [[Canary Islands]], specifically the eastern islands of [[Lanzarote]], [[Fuerteventura]], Lobos, and Mount Clara. It used to be found on [[Graciosa, Canary Islands]] and [[Alegranza]].  Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry [[shrubland]].
