== Life ==
Abdullah was the son of [[Kade I]] and Fatima.<ref name=":2">{{Cite book |last=Cohen |first=Ronald |url=https://archive.org/details/bostonuniversity02bost |title=Boston University Papers on Africa: Volume II: African History |date=1966 |publisher=Boston University Press |pages=80 |chapter=The Bornu King Lists}}</ref> He succeeded his cousin [[Ibrahim I Nikale]] as ''mai'' in 1311,<ref name=":023" /> after Ibrahim had been murdered by a group led by a man named Yerama Muhammad.<ref name=":12">{{Cite book |last=Barth |first=Heinrich |url=https://www.google.com/books/edition/Travels_and_Discoveries_in_North_and_Cen/la_zIUj0oiwC |title=Travels and Discoveries in North and Central Africa: Being a Journal of an Expedition Undertaken... 1849-1855 |date=1857 |publisher=Longmans |pages=638 |language=en}}</ref> Abdullah was a just ruler. He punished Ibrahim's murderers and defeated a figure named Bagharimi, who had apparently been a rival of some sort in Ibrahim's reign.<ref name=":12" /> After this, Abdullah is said to have "established his power with a strong hand".<ref name=":12" />

Abdullah had multiple consorts, including Kime and Kagala.<ref name=":2" /> He was succeeded in 1322<ref name=":023" /> by his son [[Selema of Kanem|Selema]].<ref name=":2" />
