Direction terminology
I was reading the ENSO article and got confused about what an 'easterly' wind was. I came here and there was implications, but no explicit statements, so I added one.
In the process, I split the second intro paragraph topically into three: first overall classification, the second about Meteorology classification, and the third about solar wind. Took out an inapt sentence about spreading seeds, as that was present below, and tweaked that.
Hope you like it. OsamaBinLogin (talk) 00:33, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
"Role" in the natural world
I could just change this, but considering this article is being reviewed and I could be wrong, I'll ask here first.
I feel the use of the word "role" in the heading and/or text feels a bit off to me.
For example the sentence "The role of wind is to erode rocks, or carry seeds" sounds like it is doing it on purpose, or it was designed to do this. Would other word not be better, like "effect" or "use" or something else. I suppose "role" might not technically be wrong, I just think there may be better words. What do others think? Am I talking nonsense? is my view of the word "role" wrong?
