Raised in Adelaide, South Australia, Nicholas moved to Melbourne, Victoria where he attended [[Carey Baptist Grammar School|Carey Grammar School]].{{citation needed|date=October 2015}}

Nicholas is married to Stephanie Lilja. ==Career==
Nicholas played the character of [[Stingray Timmins]] on the Australian soap opera ''[[Neighbours]]''. His final performance as Stingray aired on 23 March 2007, when his character was killed off. During this time he also performed in a band called 'Batman Street'.{{citation needed|date=October 2015}}

Following his ''[[Neighbours]]'' stint, Nicholas travelled from Australia to the UK to perform pantomimes over the Christmas period.
