How to report bugs to the Debian MySQL team
Debian consists entirely of volunteers. Any help is really appreciated. If you have a problem with Debian MySQL, the best way you can help is by taking extra over how you report the issue.
reportbug If at all possible use the reportbug tool. This captures a lot of potentially relevant information, so you don't have to.
Ideally we want an error message or some sort of evidence that there really is a problem. Screenshots, the script command, redirecting output or log files all would be helpful.
Can you reproduce the problem? If you can give us a precise recipe for reproducing the issue, that makes it a lot easier us to assess the issue.
Have you tried searching on the internet to see whether other people have had the same issue -- and found solutions?
Have you looked in the upstream documentation for background information. If you use Google, here is a hint. When searching for say X, search for " site:http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/ X ". This should work better than the upstream's website built in search facility.
