  • q6voiced might get ported to pipewire => removing the need for tinyalsa)

  • Buffybox ready for review/testing by anyone using FDE on their Mobian devices.
    • Includes buffyboard – Touch-enabled on-screen keyboard for virtual terminals
    • Includes unl0kr – Disk unlocking UI for the initramfs
    • To install it (it's not in any repos)

    • Transitition from osk-sdl: install works, uninstall doesn't do cleanup automatically after
    • initramfs is a lot smaller than with osk-sdl (~70MB to ~15MB) *fixes issues on some devices!
    • It's a lot faster than osk-sdl and supports multiple languages
    • How to read the debconf from an old package in a new one?
    • How to turn down the brightness? -> Not possible, open an issue

    • How to set dark mode as default? -> Edit /etc/unl0kr.conf config file

  • Pixel 3a:
    • Only boots on every second boot (works when shutting down, not when rebooting)
      • Not being put into reset correctly on reboot?
      • Issue with kernel driver?
      • Not happening to a-wai (no encryption, so might be an unl0kr issue)
    • Bluetooth MAC address needs to be set on every boot, doesn't change
      • How to set the one from the chip?
    • Wi-Fi MAC address changes on every connection, doesn't need to be set
    • 5GHz Wi-Fi doesn't connect (authentication timeout)
      • Kernel patch missing?
      • Config missing?
    • Kernel patches need to be merged into Mobian kernel repo
    • alsa-ucm-conf patch needs to be merged into Mobian alsa-ucm-conf repo
    • -> erebion will look into merging patches into Mobian repos

    • devrtz will forward patch for vibration motor into Purism repo

    • How to use less RAM?
      • -> Install systemd-zram-generator

    • How to reserve RAM for Phosh? -> memlockd

    • Back camera is being worked on? (ask in room)
    • Front camera works with libcamera but needs to be rebooted after? (ask in room)
    • -> erebion will look into upstreaming q6voiced config

  • ?PinePhone:

    • -> Andrey is working on upstreaming patches

    • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth have been upstreamed!
    • Charging still needs to be upstreamed
    • -> Andrey will prepare patches for ?PinePhone when 6.11 is out

    • Back camera doesn't work with libcamera because of a driver issue
    • Front camera works
  • ?PineTab2:

    • -> Julian will look into the Wi-FI, Bluetooth driver, required kernel patch on 6.11

    • No camera drivers
    • No Tow-Boot (Julian is maintaing U-Boot)
  • ?PinePhone Pro:

    • Back camera works with libcamera but needs to rebooted after suspending
      • -> Not anymore, there's a patch available (in rockchip-linux 6.8+ IIRC) to avoid breaking the camera on suspend

    • Front camera works
  • ?PineTab:

    • -> Julian will look into required kernel patches for 6.11 after ?PinePhone

    • Same camera drivers as the ?PinePhone

    • No Tow-Boot (who is maintaing U-Boot?)
  • Kernels:
    • -> Undef will prepare 6.6.49 for all devices

    • Automatic building basically never works
    • -> 6.6.49 will be tested for all devices

  • Tow-Boot support:
    • Support for Android devices probably won't come in the future
    • It's not maintained, can't be built, changes probably should be upstreamed
  • U-Boot support:
    • Mainline support for Android devices may come in the future
    • -> Julian will look into upstreaming changes for ?PineTab2

  • Pine64:
    • All ?PinePhones have the same Bluetooth MAC address...

      • And other Pine64 devices using the same Wi-Fi, Bluetooth chip
    • -> Andrey is looking into it

  • Android booting:
    • Boot is done from aboot
    • Can aboot be replaced, to replace the partition table?
    • -> Julian will look into it

      • -> a-wai: Unlikely for most devices, as the bootloader is signed and secure boot enabled (only exception being the SHIFT6mq IIRC, and maybe the upcoming SHIFT8)

        • -> u-boot could be used for supported devices, but needs to be chainloaded from aboot anyway
