Bug 311188 needs to be fixed so that debian-edu-config and debian-edu-install can be part of a stable Debian release and to make upgrades work without hazzles.
The following bugs are still open and are blockers for 311188:

Fix blocked by 370337: Please remove bogus change of etc/default/slapd;

Fix blocked by 370342: Make etc/kde3/kdm/Xaccess automatically configurable;
Fix blocked by 370343: Make etc/ldap/ldap.conf automatically configurable;
Fix blocked by 370346: Make etc/security/group.conf automatically configurable;
Fix blocked by 473460: please make OPTIONS in /etc/default/bind9 configurable via debhelper
The following bugs are closed, but the debian-edu-config/-install packages have not been updated to reflect those changes (we should probably file bugs for each of those and not use this wiki page to track those) - or they were reassigned to our packages, as they can fixed there:
370347: Make etc/munin-node.conf automatically configurable
370351: Make etc/sysctl.conf automatically configurable.
370348: /etc/profile.d instead of modifying /etc/skel/.bash_profile and /etc/profile
The following bugs have been dealt with:
370338: /etc/exports is no conffile anymore so can be added
370340: closed by the maintainer as done (as wontfix), maybe file another wishlist bug for * stopping /etc/issue being a conffile?
370350: done in debian-edu-config 0.402+svn6656
370393: debian-edu doesnt use amanda anymore
370349: debian-edu doesnt use inetutils-syslogd
