Yes, polar reversal and geomagnetic reversal refers to the same thing. The articles should be merged.

Speciation?

Recently a section on the correlation between polarity reversal and speciation was added. Could we have some references for this? It runs exactly contrary to my understanding, which is that no one has been to make any definitive claim that polarity reversals have any impact on biology at all. (Presumably they must matter at least a little, but no one to my knowledge has ever been able to collect evidence to prove it.) Dragons flight 20:48, September 5, 2005 (UTC)
