Much as a troublehooting guide is useful I do wonder whether or not this is appropriate for an encyclopedia, perhaps it could be labelled as common problems / solutions?

I know that wikipedia is not the place to do this, but I have to find why is used sodium acetate in DNA extraction from filamentous fungi and I can´t find it. someone can help me, thanks :)--ometzit<col> 15:26, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

it is almost impossible to overstate how bad the detection segment is NO ONE does diphenylamine any more; that was obsolete years ago
