An explanation of how they work, please? -- Karada 00:55, 11 May 2004 (UTC)

External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Static VAR compensator. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add Template:Tlx after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add Template:Tlx to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20090614120113/http://www.amsc.com:80/products/transmissiongrid/static-VAR-compensators-SVC.html to http://www.amsc.com/products/transmissiongrid/static-VAR-compensators-SVC.html
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20111008175713/http://www.amsc.com:80/products/transmissiongrid/reactive-power-AC-transmission.html? to http://www.amsc.com/products/transmissiongrid/reactive-power-AC-transmission.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at Template:Tlx).
Cheers.—cyberbot IITalk to my owner:Online 23:17, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
VAR
Should the meaning of VAR be spelled out somewhere in the lead section? An explanation of why it isn't generally used as a spelled out term (I'm presuming such an explanation must exist for an acronym to appear in the title) might also be helpful. —Salton Finneger (talk) 18:48, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- It used to be included. It was removed by Template:Ping in Template:Diff with the note "remove tangent in lead sentence." I not sure why spelling out an acronym used in the title is considered to be a tangent. —Salton Finneger (talk) 18:56, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
External links
Every one of the external links points to a manufacturer's product page, and not in keeping with WP:EL#ADV. I have therefore removed the entire section until it some non-commercial links can be found. —BillC talk 20:44, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
