Comment For the record, the quality of the original was so high that there wasn't really any point in editing it. Paris 16 deserves the credit here for finding this. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 15:10, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Support what is the reason for the obese png? Noodle snacks (talk) 08:25, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
PNGs are acually better for engravings: JPEGs are optimised for pictures. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 09:45, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Support Looks like a real photograph. It's not, is it ;) --Muhammad(talk) 09:33, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Comment The geometry looks kind of odd. Is there actually an angle from which the Coliseum looks like this? Spikebrennan (talk) 11:50, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
As far as I can tell, yes. The Colloseum is actually ovoid (either that, or a lot of diagrams on Google image search are coincidentally making the same error), and has some odd use of external walls. Of course, if Piranesi did include errors, it'd be pretty understandable given the thing was horribly overgrown with trees at the time. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 14:37, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
